Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Randy Holiday!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Night Lights!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Bruno Lombardi and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lights uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Holiday.
Holiday connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Lights's hands.

Lights looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Lights is looking for a kimura but Holiday is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Lights to get the leverage.
Lights not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Holiday really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Lights performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Holiday is trying to control but can't.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lights passes the guard and advances to mount!
Lights sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Lights stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Lights looks for a takedown but Holiday sprawls well.
Lights tries to clinch but Holiday is having none of it.
Lights fails with the takedown
and Holiday counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
A swing and a miss from Holiday.
Lights raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Lights shoots in for a takedown but Holiday shows good takedown defense.
Randy Holiday has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Night Lights.
Holiday lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lights circles away quickly and effectively.
Lights tries to counter with a clinch but Holiday shakes him off and moves away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lights avoids the body shot from Holiday.
Lights looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Holiday is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Holiday throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
No luck for Lights with that takedown attempt.
It looked like Holiday was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Lights.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lights trying to control the position but Holiday is working away.
Lights working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

Lights tries for a kimura but Holiday is defending well.
Holiday is breathing heavily.

Lights is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Holiday is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Lights is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Holiday has escaped the position, nice work there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lights staying calm.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lights works to advance to full mount. Holiday defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Lights takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Lights working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Holiday looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Lights! Submission of the night perhaps?

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Night Lights!
Night Lights decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
