Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jackson Alvarez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Justin Hammer!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paul Aken and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hammer misses with a takedown attempt
and Alvarez counters with a series of strikes. Hammer will be more careful next time no doubt.
Hammer misses with a right hand
and Alvarez counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Justin Hammer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Hammer.
It looked like Alvarez was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Hammer throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Alvarez uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hammer.
Alvarez definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Alvarez connects with a right hand. Hammer shakes it off.
Hammer misses with a body shot.
Alvarez appears to be looking for a big counter.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Alvarez circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hammer has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Hammer swings for the body but Alvarez moves out of range.

Alvarez ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hammer moves away.
Hammer throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hammer shoots in for a takedown but Alvarez shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Jackson Alvarez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Justin Hammer.
Hammer misses with a left hand
and Alvarez counters with a nice uppercut.
Hammer dives in and grabs Alvarez's left leg, looking for a takedown. Alvarez pushes down on Hammer's head and hops out.
Hammer walks into a jab.

Hammer rushes Alvarez and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Hammer is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Hammer misses with the head strike.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Hammer receives a warning from the referee for stalling.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hammer tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Alvarez just stands there and leans against the cage.
Alvarez has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Hammer tries to throw a body punch but Alvarez avoids it by throwing Hammer back against the cage.

Hammer breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hammer keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Alvarez.
Hammer lands with a good body shot.
Hammer cracks Alvarez with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Hammer swings away with a body shot that misses
and Alvarez counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Hammer is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Alvarez rather than just go for the knockout.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hammer misses with a shot to the body
and Alvarez cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Alvarez cracks Hammer with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Hammer misses with a straight left.
Alvarez appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Alvarez loads up on a big right hand but Hammer slips the punch.
Alvarez rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hammer moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Hammer looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Alvarez is fending him off so far but Hammer persists. Nope, Alvarez circles away and we're back to standing.
Alvarez throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Hammer's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Alvarez dives in looking to finish as Hammer flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Alvarez's strikes! Alvarez is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Hammer's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Hammer was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jackson Alvarez!
A very excited looking Jackson Alvarez made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
