The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peterson cracks Simpson with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Peterson lands with a good body shot.
Simpson fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Nick Peterson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Simpson on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Peterson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Simpson stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Simpson walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Simpson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Peterson tries to avoid it but Simpson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Peterson to the ground. Peterson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Simpson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steve Simpson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Peterson connects with a body shot that sends Simpson's belly button to the back.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Peterson circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Simpson to the canvas! Simpson doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Peterson keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
