The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown Jr darts in looking for a takedown but Karloff gets double underhooks and turns Brown Jr into the cage.
Karloff half committed to a counter leg kick.
Brown Jr tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Karloff defends well and Brown Jr ends up having to push Karloff into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Brown Jr shoots for a takedown but Karloff saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Karloff throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Brown Jr on the side of the head.

Brown Jr chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Karloff can pounce on him.
Nice straight punches there by Karloff. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Karloff.
Karloff wants to clinch but Brown Jr slips to the side
and Brown Jr counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Brown Jr shoots in for a takedown but Karloff shows good takedown defense.
Karloff throws a poor cross that misses
and Brown Jr counters with a one-two to the body.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Brown Jr checks a leg kick.
Brown Jr takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Karloff swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Boris Karloff seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Brown Jr pushes Karloff up against the cage in a clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Karloff slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Karloff postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Brown Jr is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Karloff, into his guard.

Karloff is looking to sweep but instead, Brown Jr has passed into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Karloff tries to roll over but Brown Jr keeps him under control.

Karloff wants to hold on but Brown Jr pushes him away.

Brown Jr tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Derrick Brown Jr's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Derrick Brown Jr's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
