Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bruno Ponce (ranked 2408 p4p, 2570 weight class) and Sale Says (ranked 311 p4p, 330 weight class). Ponce comes to the cage accompanied by Fast Car. Sale Says will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Says gets caught napping as Ponce dives in and scores a takedown. Says manages to retain guard.

Says has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Ponce has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Ponce has hold of one of Says's legs. Says is fighting the takedown attempt but Ponce gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Ponce got a little sloppy there for a moment and Says has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ponce has managed to get both his arms back between Says's legs - danger averted.

Says keeping moving, preventing Ponce from controlling successfully.
Ponce is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Says is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Ponce is pushing Says's head away, looking to escape. Says manages to hold on to the position though.
Says tries to move into full mount but can't pass Ponce's legs.
Says wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ponce keeps working.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Says wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ponce, who protects the arm well.
Ponce is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Says asserts his dominance and retains side control.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Bruno Ponce will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Says lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Ponce shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Says napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Ponce is trying to get an arm triangle but Says is defending well.

Ponce tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ponce has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Says is trying to improve his position.

Ponce creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Says sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
