Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Paker Nico (ranked 6701 p4p, 6247 weight class) and Joao Oliveira (ranked 579 p4p, 557 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Paker Nico!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joao Oliveira!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Taro Takaoka and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oliveira shoots in for a takedown but Nico shows good takedown defense.
Nico looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Oliveira drives through with a takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Oliveira drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Oliveira jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Oliveira thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Oliveira wants to control from the top but Nico keeps moving.
Oliveira is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nico keeping full guard, as Oliveira tries to pass.
Oliveira has gone for a leg lock! Nico slips out almost immediately though and dives into Oliveira's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Nico avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Oliveira has his foot on Nico's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Nico works his way back into a safe position though.
Oliveira pushes a forearm under Nico's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Nico is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Joao Oliveira!
