Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Achilles God (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Serra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). God comes into the arena with Triple Corpse Hammerblow - Children of Bodom blaring out of the sound system. Mike Serra has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Serra!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Steve Montenegro and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Serra tries to clinch but God moves out of range.
God throws a jab but it's blocked by Serra.
Nice defenses there by Serra.
Serra slips a jab from God.
Serra throws a series of punches but God moves out of range.
God swats away the attempt to clinch by Serra.
Achilles God seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Serra fails to land the takedown.
Serra slips under a jab from God.
Serra avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
God swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Serra counters with a takedown into side control.
God pushes Serra away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Serra gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Serra tries to advance to mount but can't.

Serra is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. God knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

God throws Serra to one side and escapes!

God connects with a right hand. Serra shakes it off.
Serra uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from God.
Serra fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

God clobbers Serra with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

and Serra counters with a nice double leg into guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Serra wanted to stand there but God had control of the position.

Serra thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

God has Serra pulled in close to control his posture.

God uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Serra takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Serra shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts God as he jumps to the side.
Achilles God has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Serra.

God scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
God misses with an uppercut. Serra saw that one coming.
God pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Achilles God is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Serra shoots in and drives through. God sprawls well.

Serra drops his hands momentarily and God takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Serra shoots in for a takedown but God shows good takedown defense.

God looks to land a left hand but Serra moved out of range nicely.
God pivots, looking for a leg kick but Serra is out of range and God settles back down.

Serra darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Serra is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Serra stops God from getting back to his feet.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Serra is sneakily working for an arm triangle but God sees it coming and defends easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

God kicks Serra off and gets back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Achilles God dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!

Serra on the wrong end of a nice hook.
A jab from God misses.
Serra showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from God.

Serra scores a takedown into full mount!
Serra with the ground and pound from mount.

God somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet!

Serra ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Serra staying out of range there.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
A big left from God misses.

Nice defenses there by Serra.
No joy there for Serra, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Serra tries to clinch but God is having none of it.
God throws a hook but Serra avoids it easily.
God just misses with a punch to the body.
God misses with a double jab

and Serra counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in God's guard now.
Serra tries to free his leg and advance position but God is retaining full guard.
God wants to stand up but Serra is controlling him.

Serra thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Serra advances to half guard.
Serra is looking to advance position but God won't allow it.
Serra is stalling here. God is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Serra seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and God has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Serra tries to bench press God off him but God keeps the position.

God has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
The crowd cheers as God lands an impressive looking overhand right. Serra doesn't seem phased though.

God throws a jab but it's blocked by Serra.
God falls off balance throwing a combination
and Serra counters with a left and a right that stings God.
Serra fails to land the takedown.
God throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Serra on the side of the head.
Serra shoots in looking for a takedown. God tries to sprawl out of it but Serra keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. God manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
God throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
God scores with a jab. Serra acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
God scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Serra has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from God finds it's way round the side to connect with Serra's head.
God takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Serra fails to land the takedown.
Achilles God has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Serra.
God throws a right and a left that both miss.
God misses with an attempted mid kick.
God swinging wilding here.
Serra uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from God.
Serra throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around God's waist but God gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Serra off to one side.
God scores with a one two! Serra had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
A telegraphed right hand from God misses the target.
Serra closes the distance and clinches up with God, looking for a takedown. Serra pushes God against the cage but God circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
God tests Serra's chin there with a solid looking shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Achilles God dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Serra moves out of range as God strikes.
Serra gets cracked there but stands up to it.
God throws a half hearted mid kick.
Achilles God is winning the standup battle so far.
God throws a hook but Serra blocks it.
God dodges the punch combination from Serra.
Serra misses with a double jab
and God counters with a right hand to the body.
God is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Serra.
God throws a head kick that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Serra keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from God.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by God!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Serra drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
God is trying to control the position but Serra postures up.
Mike Serra has got the better of the ground game so far.

Serra wanted to stand there but God had control of the position.
Serra won't allow God to get back to his feet.
Serra trying to control the position from guard on top but God is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
God wants to stand but Serra is controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Serra working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of God's head.
God is trying to keep Serra in close.
Serra working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Serra closes this distance looking for a takedown but God circles away.
God lands with a right hand.
Good exchange - God coming out on top.
God falls off balance throwing a combination

and Serra counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Serra trying to control from God's half guard. God has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Serra stops God from standing up.
God controls Serra momentarily but Serra frees himself.

Serra drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Serra jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Serra wants to get up but he can't break God's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

God is working an open guard so Serra takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
God misses with an uppercut.
A telegraphed right hand from God misses the target.
God throws an overhand right that lands on Serra's shoulder, as Serra tries to avoid the shot.
Serra will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
God throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Serra.

Serra darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Serra wants to take a breather but God is having none of it.
Mike Serra has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Serra is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Serra is just content to waste time from the top position. God takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Achilles God is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Serra is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
God managing to control the position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Mike Serra comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think God has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
