Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kalem Batten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roger Panzer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Batten comes to the cage accompanied by Collie Buddz - Defend Your Own. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kalem Batten!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roger Panzer!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Jorge Garcia and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Batten goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Panzer forces Batten back against the cage and clinches.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Panzer postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Batten looks a forlorn figure.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Panzer creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Batten has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Panzer avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Roger Panzer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Batten shoots in looking for a takedown. Panzer tries to sprawl out of it but Batten keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Panzer manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Panzer thuds his right hand into Batten's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Horrible takedown by Batten or perhaps it was just good defense by Panzer which made him look bad.
Panzer buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Well Panzer has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
