Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Limu Emu (ranked 24476 p4p, 24071 weight class) and Alessio Scardina (ranked 721 p4p, 720 weight class). Alessio Scardina is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Limu Emu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Alessio Scardina!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, John Roberts and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scardina takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Scardina takes a jab right on the kisser.
Emu scoring well with a low kick there.
Emu fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Scardina.
Emu throws out a powerful jab.
Scardina tries to move into range but Emu moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
A cross from Emu lands.
Emu scores with a nice right hand.
A punch lands to the side of Scardina 's head but he takes it in his stride.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
An inside leg kick lands from Emu.
Emu scores with a jab. Scardina acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Emu moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Emu connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Emu dips to his left and cracks Scardina with an uppercut!
Scardina takes one on the button.
A nice inside leg kick there by Emu. That's going to slow Scardina down.
Scardina gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Emu to score an easy takedown into full guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Scardina is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Scardina can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Emu controls the pace.

Scardina throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Emu was covering up waiting for the punch and Scardina finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Scardina really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Emu. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Emu bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Scardina's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Scardina felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Emu displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Scardina.

Emu goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Scardina rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Emu's guard! Nice work there by Scardina!
Emu lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Scardina can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Emu controls the pace.
Emu seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Scardina for as long as he can get away with.

Scardina has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Emu is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Scardina.
