The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

One fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Madden to the ground. One is now in Madden's guard.

One trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Madden is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
One tries to stand but Madden is controlling from the bottom.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
One with a flurry of punches that miss.
One is stalling in the full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Madden tries to keep at a distance but One has taken the fight into the clinch.

One gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
One stopping the sweep attempt from Madden.
One's corner is telling him to maintain position.
One is looking to pass into half guard but Madden pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Madden is in guard.

Madden stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. One swivels though and keeps the full guard.
One lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

One must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

One stands up from Madden's guard - One perhaps looking for a knockout.
Madden gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and One counters by clinching up.

One's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

One shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than One was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
