Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yoshito Okamoto (ranked 4242 p4p, 3284 weight class) and Bill Goldberg (ranked 525 p4p, 419 weight class). Okamoto comes to the cage accompanied by Detox - Skepta. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yoshito Okamoto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bill Goldberg!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Summer Carpenter and Darius Henderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goldberg takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Okamoto missing with a left hand there. Goldberg was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Goldberg shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Okamoto has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Goldberg is working away from the top position though.

Okamoto looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Okamoto is looking to improve his position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Okamoto is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Goldberg pulls his head out easily.
Okamoto is trying to get back to full guard.

Okamoto has his foot on Goldberg's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Goldberg works his way back into a safe position though.
Goldberg wanted to stand there but Okamoto had control of the position.
Okamoto is trying to keep Goldberg in close.
Okamoto looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Okamoto isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Goldberg stacks Okamoto on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Goldberg!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Okamoto tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Goldberg wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Okamoto is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Goldberg off and has taken his back!

Goldberg defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Okamoto's arms.

Okamoto is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Okamoto is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Goldberg defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Goldberg trying to get back to his feet but Okamoto is in full control for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Okamoto has a closed guard, preventing Goldberg from standing up.
Okamoto lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Goldberg is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Okamoto is controlling him.

Okamoto loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Okamoto won't allow Goldberg to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Okamoto stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Goldberg swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Goldberg is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Okamoto looks to land a right hand but Goldberg moved out of range.
A decent looking cross lands there for Goldberg.
Goldberg looks for a takedown but Okamoto sprawls well.

Goldberg changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Okamoto looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Okamoto manages to work his way to half guard, despite Goldberg's best efforts.
Okamoto is looking for a sweep. Goldberg is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Okamoto is holding on to half guard well.

Goldberg is thwarting Okamoto's attempts to control the position.
Okamoto is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Goldberg jumps into side control!

Okamoto tries to bench press Goldberg off him but Goldberg keeps the position.
Okamoto looking for a sweep but Goldberg has passed into full mount! Oh no!

Goldberg can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Okamoto is looking to escape.
Okamoto tries to lock up and control but Goldberg gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Okamoto has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Goldberg is working away from the top position though.
Okamoto wants to get back to full guard.

Okamoto definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Okamoto working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Goldberg doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Goldberg manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Goldberg wants to stand but Okamoto is controlling his posture from full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Bill Goldberg showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Okamoto comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Goldberg gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Okamoto to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Okamoto is standing up over Goldberg. Goldberg looks to escape but Okamoto dives into side control.

Okamoto is looking to take a break and control but Goldberg is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Goldberg is trying to buck Okamoto off.

Okamoto working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

Okamoto tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Okamoto looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Goldberg is avoiding damage well.
Okamoto lands a nice forearm strike.

Okamoto working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Okamoto is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Goldberg knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Okamoto is looking to take a break and control but Goldberg is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Okamoto creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Goldberg sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Goldberg is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Goldberg is not content to let Okamoto control the position.

Okamoto goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Goldberg has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Okamoto but great work by Goldberg.

Okamoto is controlling Goldberg's trapped leg to prevent Goldberg from advancing to side control.

And that's the end of the fight!
Yoshito Okamoto showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Okamoto has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
