Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Walad Anubis (ranked 244 p4p, 816 weight class) and Rene Lafayette (ranked 33 p4p, 116 weight class). Anubis's entrance music is Hideaway. A fine choice. Lafayette has chosen Erasure - Always as his entrance music. Rene Lafayette has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Walad Anubis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rene Lafayette!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Donatello Bradman and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lafayette bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Anubis's head backwards.
Rene Lafayette seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A right-left combo lands from Anubis.
Lafayette fails with the takedown
and Anubis counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Lafayette is rocked!
Anubis has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Undisputed in the buildup to the fight.
Anubis missing with a left hand there. Lafayette was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Anubis ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Anubis keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Lafayette.

Lafayette fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Anubis sprawls well initially but Lafayette persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lafayette is looking to advance position but Anubis won't allow it.
Anubis is trying to get back to full guard.
Well, if Lafayette is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Lafayette is just content to waste time from the top position. Anubis takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Anubis working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Lafayette.
Lafayette trying to control the position from guard on top but Anubis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lafayette stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Anubis swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Anubis keeping moving, preventing Lafayette from controlling successfully.
Anubis is pulling down on Lafayette's head to control his posture.
Lafayette wants to stand and escape but instead Anubis has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.


That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Anubis won't allow Lafayette to sweep him here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lafayette is looking to stand up but Anubis isn't so interested in that idea.
Lafayette has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Lafayette tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Lafayette is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Anubis passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Lafayette tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Anubis easily slips into full mount!

Anubis jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Lafayette is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Lafayette and Anubis has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Anubis tries to move to mount but Lafayette blocks the move with his legs.
Lafayette struggling a bit here.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Lafayette shoots in looking for a takedown. Anubis tries to sprawl out of it but Lafayette keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Anubis manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Walad Anubis dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Lafayette misses with a double jab
enabling Anubis to counter with a crisp jab.
Anubis looks to land a right hand but Lafayette moved out of range.
Lafayette shoots in and drives through. Anubis sprawls well.
Lafayette misses with the combination.

Anubis lands a big uppercut and Lafayette crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Lafayette looks OK. Anubis waves Lafayette back to his feet!
Lafayette is still on wobbly legs! Can Anubis finish him?
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Lafayette misses with a takedown attempt
and Anubis counters with a powerful cross that connects right on the chin and the lights go out! A massive one punch knock out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Walad Anubis!
A very excited looking Walad Anubis made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
