Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paulo Kogos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Danny Brook!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Steve Smith and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brook wants to clinch
and Kogos counters with a straight right hand.
It looks like Danny Brook has been cut.
Brook shoots and misses
and Kogos counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
The fight stays on the outside here - Brook looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
A quick step to the side and Kogos tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Brook rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Kogos counters with a left to the body.
We've been told by Kogos's head coaches at Soul Supremacy Rio that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Kogos cracks Brook with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Brook has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Brook tries to close the distance and clinch but Kogos swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Kogos was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Brook tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Kogos scores with a counter punch that sends Brook to the canvas! Kogos smells blood - he's punishing Brook with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Brook has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Paulo Kogos!
