PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Christopher Wallase (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Crackman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Tom Crackman was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Christopher Wallase!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tom Crackman!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Aleksandr Martynov and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crackman scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Wallase takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Crackman misses with a two punch combination.

Wallase closes the distance and clinches.

Wallase jumps guard.
Crackman slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Wallase is looking for a sweep.
Wallase wants to control but Crackman postures up.
Wallase is looking to regain half guard here but Crackman keeps moving and retains side control.
Wallase prevents Crackman from improving position.
Wallase tries to improve position but can't.

Crackman thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Crackman tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Wallase moves into the clinch.

Crackman wants to break free but Wallase has control.
Wallase has Crackman pushed against the cage.
Crackman is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Wallase lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.


It looks like Tom Crackman has been cut.

Wallase lands a takedown into guard.
Crackman utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Crackman keeping moving, preventing Wallase from controlling successfully.
Wallase is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Wallase knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Crackman on the ground.
Wallase trying to control the position from guard on top but Crackman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Wallase instigates a clinch.
Wallase lands a nice knee to the body.
Crackman looks gassed!
Crackman goes for a takedown in the clinch but Wallase prevents it.
Crackman tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Wallase's elbow.
Crackman misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Wallase changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Crackman fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Crackman will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Crackman looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Christopher Wallase has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tom Crackman.
Crackman wants to clinch

and Wallase decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Crackman's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Crackman working for a triangle but Wallase defends it easily.

Crackman manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Crackman wants to control the pace but Wallase is squirming around nicely.

Wallase is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Crackman gets his way!
Crackman doesn't have the hooks in and Wallase manages to turn into his guard.
Wallase tries to free his leg and advance position but Crackman is retaining full guard.

Crackman has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Wallase can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Wallase forces his way into half guard.

Wallase thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Crackman's head.
Crackman trying to control but Wallase postures up.
Crackman is pressing down on Wallase's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Crackman had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Wallase is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Crackman Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Wallase's back instead.
Crackman lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Crackman is persistently looking for the submission but Wallase is defending it well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Wallase tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Crackman wants to finish this one by submission but Wallase is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Crackman.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Crackman changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Crackman tries to clinch up

and Wallase counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Wallase.
Crackman misses with a hook from the clinch.
Wallase landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Crackman on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Crackman swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Wallase tries to land knees in the clinch but Crackman avoids the damage to the body.
Crackman can't break the clinch.
Crackman tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Crackman wants to break free but Wallase has control.
Wallase lands a nice knee to the body.
Crackman looking to stall.
Crackman wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Wallase has him pressed against the cage.
Wallase lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Crackman wants a takedown.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Wallase taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Wallase has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Crackman is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Crackman prevents a takedown attempt there.
Wallase keeps control of Crackman as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Crackman tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Wallase just stands there and leans against the cage.

Wallase wants the takedown. Crackman is fighting it off but Wallase persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Crackman's guard against the cage.
Wallase slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Wallase wants to lay and pray for a moment but Crackman keeps working.
Wallase in side control lands a decent elbow.

Wallase stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Wallase has taken the fight to the clinch.

Wallase is trying to trip Crackman. He has hold of a leg but Crackman is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Wallase persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Wallase stands up from Crackman's guard - Wallase perhaps looking for a knockout.
Crackman misses with a double jab.
Wallase shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Crackman but Crackman pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Christopher Wallase. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Wallase gets the takedown into side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Wallase tries to move to mount but Crackman blocks the move with his legs.

Crackman gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Wallase is keen to just control but Crackman is a slippery customer.
Crackman slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Crackman is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Wallase postures up.
Wallase won't allow Crackman to sweep him here.

Crackman has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Wallase can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Crackman has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Wallase should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Crackman has tightened it up now! Wallase should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
