Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Phil Wei (ranked 3930 p4p, 4356 weight class) and The Dude (ranked 77 p4p, 87 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Phil Wei!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, The Dude!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Ian Loll and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dude throws a nice looking combination but Wei bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Dude moves into range and clinches up with Wei.
Wei swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Dude stalling against the cage.
Wei is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Dude is defending well.
Wei tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Dude stops a takedown attempt from Wei.
Dude tries to circle away but Wei has him pinned against the cage.
Wei is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Dude is defending well for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wei tries for a takedown. No joy.

Dude prevents Wei from breaking the clinch.
Dude drops down looking for an ankle pick but Wei pulls his leg out and moves away.

Wei stalks Dude and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Dude's face. Dude staggers backwards, shaken.
Phil Wei seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dude just misses with a punch to the body.
Wei throws a leg kick

and Dude counters by clinching up.
Wei tries for a takedown but Dude manages to get underhooks.
Dude has had enough of the clinch but Wei keeps him there for the moment.
Wei keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Dude's efforts to push away.
Dude wants to get back to striking at distance but Wei won't allow it.
Dude is trying to force a seperation but Wei has the dominant position.

Dude manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Wei wants to pass the guard but Dude is keeping the position.

Wei wants to control from the top but Dude keeps moving.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dude is on top in guard.

Dude stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wei swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Wei is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dude accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Dude showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

Dude passes Wei's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Wei is trying to get back to full guard.
Dude thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Dude frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Dude looking to control and managing it successfully.

Dude thowing shots but they're missing.
Dude punching from mount but Wei doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Wei knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dude on the ground.
Dude controlling from mount.
Wei is looking to improve his position but Dude isn't that keen on the idea.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Dude throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Wei because Dude loaded up on that one.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Wei stuffs the takedown attempt from Dude. Dude gets slowly back to his feet.
Wei wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Wei closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Dude tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Dude is looking for a takedown.
Dude fails to pull guard.
Phil Wei has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of The Dude.
Dude wants to take the fight to the mat but Wei manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Wei throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Dude escapes and throws Wei's legs to the side, diving into side control!
You can see the frustration on Wei's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Dude advances nicely into full mount.
Dude sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Dude controlling from the full mount.
Wei has given up his back. Will we see Dude going for some submissions?

Dude tightening his grip on Wei, looking for the choke.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Dude controlling the positon.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Let's hope that Dude has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Wei is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Dude gets his way!

The Dude showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Wei leaves Dude with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Wei appears to be looking for a big counter.
Wei misses with a wild combination.
Dude has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Wei slaps away a takedown attempt from Dude, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Wei shoots in looking for a takedown but Dude manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Wei's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Dude is trying hard to land a takedown here. Wei sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Wei bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Wei is trying to get an arm triangle but Dude is defending well.

Dude is looking to regain half guard here but Wei keeps moving and retains side control.

Dude tries to buck Wei off but Wei is having none of it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Dude throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Dude rushes Wei and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Dude tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Wei's elbow.

Wei breaks the clinch.
Dude tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Wei paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Wei shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Wei showed some decent athleticism there.
Phil Wei has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The Dude is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The Dude has got the better of the ground game so far.
Dude is looking to improve his position.
