Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jamie Hull!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matthew Fritz!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Jorge Garcia and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fritz throws a series of punches but Hull avoids them all with ease.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Hull.
Hull is looking to take a break and control but Fritz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Fritz can't do much from the bottom here.
Hull happy to just control the position for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fritz prevents Hull from improving position.

Fritz wants to control but Hull postures up.
Fritz looking for a sweep but Hull has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Hull sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Fritz holds on for dear life.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Fritz working to try and regain half guard.
Fritz wants to control but Hull is having none of it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fritz gets back to half guard.
Fritz is refusing to be controlled, as Hull sits in half guard.
Fritz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hull. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hull is just content to waste time from the top position. Fritz takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hull being controlled here momentarily.
Fritz is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Hull closes the distance looking to clinch
and Fritz counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hull tries to clinch but Fritz moves out of range.
Fritz appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Hull needs to keep his hands up - Fritz had a free shot at his head there.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Fritz throws a body kick that misses.
Hull tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Fritz paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Hull shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Fritz pinned against the cage. Fritz gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
It seemed like Fritz was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Hull looks to clinch
letting Fritz counter with a right hand.
Hull tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Fritz swivels and escapes.
Jamie Hull seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hull doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Fritz cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Fritz dips to his left and cracks Hull with an uppercut!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hull wants to clinch up but Fritz keeps it at a distance.
Fritz doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Hull has his takedown stuffed
and Fritz counters with a straight right hand.
Hull shoots and misses
and Fritz counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Fritz catches Hull with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Hull is rocked!
Hull shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Fritz pinned against the cage. Fritz gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Oh Hull is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hull shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Fritz sprawls well. Fritz wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hull gets slowly back to his feet.
Hull seems to have got his legs back now.
Hull is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Hull shoots in for a takedown but Fritz shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Fritz throws a right hand that misses

and Hull counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Fritz is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Fritz keeping hold of Hull's head, controlling as best he can.

Hull is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Fritz defends it well.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Fritz wants to control but Hull is keeping busy.

Hull is working for a submission of some sort.

Hull is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Fritz desperately trying to maintain half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Fritz has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Fritz is looking for a sweep. Hull is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Fritz throws a head kick but Hull moves out of range.

Matthew Fritz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Fritz tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Hull closes this distance looking for a takedown but Fritz circles away.

Hull shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Fritz but Fritz pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Fritz throws a head kick that misses.
Hull shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Fritz but Fritz pushes him off and we're back to square one.

As Fritz tries to get set, Hull tries to push him back and clinch up but Fritz manages to avoid the attempt.

Hull darts in and clinches Fritz up against the cage.

Fritz escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Matthew Fritz seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Fritz swats away the attempt to clinch by Hull.
Fritz throws a jab but it's blocked by Hull.

Hull fails with the takedown.
Fritz was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
A cross from Fritz lands.
Hull wants to clinch.
Hull tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Hull shoots and misses
and Fritz counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Nice takedown defense from Fritz. No joy for Hull on that attempt.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Fritz enables Hull to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Fritz manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hull is fighting to break Fritz's control of his arms but Fritz is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Fritz can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hull controls the pace.
Fritz seems keen to control Hull's posture.
Hull trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Matthew Fritz is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hull trying to control but Fritz is working from the bottom.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Matthew Fritz is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Fritz gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Hull to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Fritz looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hull is one step ahead there.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

I think Fritz has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
