The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Figueroa fails with a takedown attempt.
Dutra lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Figueroa misses with a takedown attempt - Dutra sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Dutra pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rodney Figueroa. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dutra lands a nice looking body kick.
Figueroa is breathing heavily.
Figueroa looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dutra is fending him off so far but Figueroa persists. Nope, Dutra circles away and we're back to standing.
Dutra throws a nice looking combination but Figueroa bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Rodney Figueroa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dutra lands with a kick to the ribs.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dutra lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Figueroa is looking to close the distance but Dutra sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Figueroa crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Figueroa is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
