Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bernard Geoffrion !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Machiel Hondeveld!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Geoffrion takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
The crowd cheers as Hondeveld lands an impressive looking overhand right. Geoffrion doesn't seem phased though.
Geoffrion avoids the body shot from Hondeveld.
Geoffrion half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Hondeveld. Geoffrion does a little dance to reset his feet.
Geoffrion attempts a counter takedown but Hondeveld avoids it well and moves away.
Machiel Hondeveld seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hondeveld defending well as Geoffrion loads up on a big left hand.
Hondeveld scores with a nice strike.
It looks like Bernard Geoffrion has been cut.
Hondeveld has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Geoffrion is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Geoffrion throws a lazy uppercut
and Hondeveld counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Geoffrion thinking.
Hondeveld cracks Geoffrion with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Geoffrion looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Hondeveld finish him?
Geoffrion is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Geoffrion is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Hondeveld doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Geoffrion crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Geoffrion 's bad books for that mishap!
