PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sorry Eh (ranked 1831 p4p, 3614 weight class) and Lucca Burt (ranked 40 p4p, 70 weight class). Lucca Burt will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sorry Eh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lucca Burt!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burt throws a body punch but Eh moves out of range.
Eh feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Eh tried to score with a low kick but Burt checks it.
Eh showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Burt.
Eh is looking for a counter combo.
The fight stays on the outside here - Eh looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Burt misses with a double jab.

Eh gets a double leg takedown into Burt's guard.
Burt wants to get back to his feet but Eh passes into half guard.

Eh looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Burt with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Eh passes into side control, despite Burt's attempt to control the position.
Eh works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Eh cracks Burt with a big right hand but Burt just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Burt struggling a bit here.

Eh is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Burt is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Burt sneaks out the side door and pushes Eh away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Eh looking to score a takedown here. Burt is defending well but Eh drives through and ends up in Burt's guard.
Eh advances to half guard.
Eh seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Eh works his way into side control.

Burt tries to improve position but can't.
Burt is trying to buck Eh off.
Eh connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Burt some visible discomfort.
Eh content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Burt is looking for a sweep.

Burt takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Eh controls the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Eh is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Burt will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Eh drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Eh chips away with some ground and pound.
Eh has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Eh seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Burt misses with a few strikes there.
Eh doesn't manage to clinch there - Burt circles away.
Burt lands a nice hook to Eh's body. Eh takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Eh fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Burt sprawls well initially but Eh persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Burt tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Eh manages to move to mount!
Burt tries to lock up and control but Eh gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Eh is working for a guillotine from mount but Burt frees his head quite easily.
Burt tries to improve his position but instead Eh has taken his back!

Eh is persistently looking for the submission but Burt is defending it well.
Burt rolls, trying to escape but Eh keeps control of the position.

Eh is riding his opponent, not letting Burt buck him off.

Eh punches Burt on the ear.

Eh is persistently looking for the submission but Burt is defending it well.
Burt is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Eh.

Burt rolls, trying to escape but Eh keeps control of the position.
Eh is landing with strikes from the back.

It looks like Lucca Burt has been cut.
Eh trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Burt doesn't escape.
Burt is still in real trouble! Can Eh finish him?

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The cut man is working on Lucca Burt's cut.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Eh bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Burt throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Eh shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Sorry Eh overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Eh lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Eh slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Eh controlling the position from side mount.
Eh is working Burt over with some ground and pound from side control.
Eh wants to stand but Burt has his arm trapped.
Eh is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Eh tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Eh has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Eh happy to just control the position for now.
Eh lands some shots froms side control.
Eh gets to mount! Burt was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Eh is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Lucca Burt has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Sorry Eh is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Burt takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Sorry Eh showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Eh, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
