PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kento Kawamata (ranked 297 p4p, 324 weight class) and Nig Nig (ranked 42 p4p, 47 weight class). Nig Nig told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, Kento Kawamata!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 17 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nig Nig!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Percy O'Donnell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kawamata avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Kawamata is looking to counter with a body kick.
Kawamata waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Nig.
Nig scores with a jab to the head.
Nig jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Nig shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kawamata pinned against the cage. Kawamata gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Nig Nig seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nig connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Kawamata momentarily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

and Kawamata rattles Nig with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Nig tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Kawamata dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Nig stiff and motionless on the mat!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:06 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Kento Kawamata!
Kento Kawamata was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
