PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alexei Babinski (ranked 113 p4p, 83 weight class) and Beau Abner (ranked 21 p4p, 15 weight class). Babinski comes into the arena with Raining Blood - Slayer blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 13 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alexei Babinski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Beau Abner!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Hirohito Nitta and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abner misses the jab.
Babinski throws a big counter combination but Abner scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Babinski displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Abner throws out the jab.
Babinski appears to be looking for a big counter.
Abner takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Babinski checks the leg kick.
Abner stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Abner throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Babinski stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Abner throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Babinski on the side of the head.
Beau Abner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Babinski.
Abner throws a lazy right hand but Babinski sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Babinski throws a looping overhand right but Abner ducks down to avoid it.

Babinski takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Babinski is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Abner.
It seemed like Abner was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Abner throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

A jab from Abner finds it's way through Babinski's defenses.
Babinski looks for the body kick but Abner saw that one coming.

Abner has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Babinski.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Abner takes a swing at Babinski's ribcage but misses.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Beau Abner dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.

A very excited looking Alexei Babinski made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
