Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Biggy Times (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cheick Kongo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Times shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kongo as he jumps to the side.
Times doesn't manage to clinch there - Kongo circles away.
Kongo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

and Kongo counters with a big head kick but Times shrugs it off.
Times misses with a wild combination.
Times tries for a takedown but Kongo sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Biggy Times. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kongo darts in and clinches Times up against the cage.
Times has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kongo is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Kongo tries to stand but Times is controlling from the bottom.

Kongo postures up in Times's guard and throws a big left but Times blocks it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Kongo is bucking up trying to escape but Times cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kongo takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Times can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kongo is looking to escape.

A nice elbow there by Times.
Kongo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Times. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Times pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Kongo is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Times has taken his back!

Kongo gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Times counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kongo's guard now.
Times throws a big right hand that misses.
Times is in close to Kongo's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Times trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Kongo is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Times dives into side control.

Times lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Kongo down.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Biggy Times just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Times fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Times shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Times showed some decent athleticism there.
Kongo is staying active underneath Times, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Times lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Times decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

and Times counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Kongo is working an open guard so Times takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

and Kongo counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Kongo tries a head kick but it misses.

Times feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Times content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Times has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Times stands up and waves to Kongo to follow him.
Times looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Times shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kongo but Kongo pushes him off and we're back to square one.
