PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Corey Andrews (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and rock solid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). rock solid told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Corey Andrews!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, rock solid!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Nard Betker and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Andrews feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

solid working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Andrews doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Andrews manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
solid is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Andrews scores with a couple of nice shots.

Andrews frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

solid wants to control but Andrews is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Andrews working solid over with strikes.
Andrews prevents solid from improving his position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Andrews takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

solid had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Andrews is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. solid Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Andrews's back instead.

solid has got his arm under Andrews's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Andrews has spun round into solid's guard beautifully! Well done that man!

Andrews gets to mount! solid was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Andrews, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
