Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Franky French!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alberto Aquilani!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aquilani tries to clinch up.
French misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

French scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Aquilani tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but French wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Aquilani is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
French is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Aquilani will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Aquilani manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

French makes his way to full guard, as Aquilani worked for a kimura.
Aquilani wants to stand but French is controlling his posture from full guard.
French has Aquilani pulled in close to control his posture.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Aquilani preventing the sweep.
French controls Aquilani momentarily but Aquilani frees himself.
Aquilani postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Aquilani drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and French dives on top into guard.
French looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Aquilani had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. French is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Aquilani Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take French's back instead.
Aquilani looks gassed!
French trying to control the hands but Aquilani breaks the grip.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Aquilani doesn't have the hooks in and French manages to turn into his guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Aquilani escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. French gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
French is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Franky French just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
French lands with a right that hurts Aquilani. Aquilani looks to clinch but French throws a short knee that drops Aquilani. This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch and Knee). Franky French!
