PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Liam Higgins (ranked 5598 p4p, 6289 weight class) and Jairzinho Da Silva (ranked 618 p4p, 664 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Da Silva throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Higgins's head.
Da Silva throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

and Da Silva takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Higgins definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Da Silva throws a hook to the side of Higgins's head but Higgins sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Higgins catches Da Silva with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Higgins feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Da Silva sprawling to the canvas! Da Silva rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Higgins finish him?!
Da Silva throws a low kick but it's checked well by Higgins.
It appears Higgins was looking to counter with a kick there.

Higgins swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Higgins connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Da Silva momentarily.

Da Silva throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Da Silva throws a leg kick which misses Higgins's front leg but catches the back leg as Higgins tries to avoid it.

Da Silva lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Higgins throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Da Silva on the side of the head.

It looks like Jairzinho Da Silva has been cut.
Da Silva lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Da Silva.
Da Silva scores with a sloppy right hand. Higgins should have avoided that one.
Da Silva bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Higgins is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

It seemed like Da Silva was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Higgins drops Da Silva with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Da Silva looks back up at him and smiles so Higgins waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Higgins cracks Da Silva with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Higgins has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Da Silva to stand back up!

BOOM! Higgins lands a beautiful left hook that drops Da Silva. Da Silva tries to recover but Higgins is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Da Silva lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
