Lapierre has chosen Sugar as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Juanito Rico has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rico throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Lapierre decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Rico's guard.

Lapierre is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Lapierre drops back looking for a leg! Rico is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rico manages to kick Lapierre off! Lapierre jumps back into Rico's guard.
Rico wants to stand and escape but Lapierre is having none of it.

Lapierre drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lapierre jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lapierre drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Lapierre as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Rico screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Lapierre! Nice submission victory there!
