PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Richard Dixon (ranked 6124 p4p, 2236 weight class) and Adam Cole (ranked 188 p4p, 72 weight class). Cole comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Bay shit by MAC DRE kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Richard Dixon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Adam Cole!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Bart Greer and Dirk Anderson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cole throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Dixon on the side of the head.

It looks like Richard Dixon has been cut.
Cole lands a glancing blow to the side of Dixon's head.
Cole misses with an uppercut.
The crowd cheers as Cole lands an impressive looking overhand right. Dixon doesn't seem phased though.
Cole looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Dixon goes for a double leg but Cole avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Cole continues to drive forward.
Cole prevents a body shot from Dixon.

Dixon's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Dixon clinches up with Cole and pushes him back against the cage.
Dixon is trying to drag Cole to the mat but Cole just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Cole misses with a punch on the inside.

Dixon pulls Cole into guard.
Cole is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Cole stopping the sweep attempt from Dixon.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cole controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Dixon not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Cole won't allow Dixon to get back to his feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Dixon looks to clinch
and Cole cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Cole stuffs the takedown attempt from Dixon. Dixon gets slowly back to his feet.
Cole looks like he wants to counter punch here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Richard Dixon. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dixon slips a jab from Cole.
Dixon moves out of range as Cole strikes.
Cole sizes up Dixon with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Cole lands a body shot.
Adam Cole is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Dixon fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Dixon walks into a straight right hand from Cole.

Cole cracks Dixon with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Cole has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Dixon to stand back up!

Dixon is rocked!

Richard Dixon's cut is getting worse.
Dixon walks into a straight right, dropping him to the canvas! Cole swarms him and finishes the fight with a hail of punches! What a brutal finish!
