Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scott Geistman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hector Osorio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Geistman comes to the cage accompanied by Twist. The crowd seem to be enjoying Osorio's choice of entrance music: Run to the Hills. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Scott Geistman!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hector Osorio!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Edson Gomes and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Geistman looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Osorio displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Geistman throws out the jab.

Geistman bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Osorio is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Geistman off and has taken his back!
Osorio is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Osorio connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Geistman to escape the position.

Osorio really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Geistman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Osorio controlling the positon.

Osorio has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Geistman's body.

Geistman drops back looking for a leg! Osorio is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Osorio manages to kick Geistman off! Geistman jumps back into Osorio's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Osorio wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Osorio has Geistman pulled in close to control his posture.
Let's hope that Osorio has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Osorio is looking to stand up but Geistman isn't so interested in that idea.
Osorio wants to sweep but no luck.
Osorio has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Osorio is on top in guard.

Geistman is looking for a triangle here but Osorio uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

You can see the frustration on Geistman's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Osorio decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Geistman throws a hook to the side of Osorio's head but Osorio sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Geistman tries to clinch there but Osorio circles away.
Osorio avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Osorio stalks Geistman and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Geistman's face. Geistman staggers backwards, shaken.


It looks like Scott Geistman has been cut.

Osorio tries to land a leg kick but Geistman saw it coming and moves away.
Osorio stuffs the takedown.
Geistman is breathing heavily.
Geistman shoots for a takedown but Osorio saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Osorio!


Geistman is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Osorio misses the jab.
Geistman doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Oh Geistman is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Geistman looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Osorio is fending him off so far but Geistman persists. Nope, Osorio circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Scott Geistman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Geistman is looking to clinch.
Geistman seems to have got his legs back now.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Osorio throws a poor cross that misses

and Geistman counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Osorio's guard now.

Geistman drops back, looking for a kneebar! Osorio looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Osorio looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Osorio!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Geistman quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Geistman but it's paid off an Osorio is forced to tap! Nice work by Geistman.
