Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Snail Tail (ranked 1943 p4p, 606 weight class) and Daniel Barbosa (ranked 230 p4p, 84 weight class). Tail comes to the ring accompanied by Neil Diamond - Sweet Caroline. Snail Tail has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Konstantin Menshow and Ivan Kurochkin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tail takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

It looks like Snail Tail has been cut.
Barbosa swings for the body but Tail moves out of range.
Barbosa lands a glancing blow to the side of Tail's head.
Tail avoids the body shot from Barbosa.
Tail slips under a jab from Barbosa.
Barbosa throws a series of strikes that have Tail backpedaling.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Barbosa fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Barbosa steps into range and cracks Tail with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Tail flops backwards and Barbosa dives into his guard looking to finish!
Barbosa is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Let's hope that Barbosa has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Barbosa.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Barbosa drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Barbosa jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Tail tries to score a power double leg takedown but Barbosa sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Tail somewhat.

Barbosa fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Tail on the side of the head.

Jeez, Snail Tail's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

Barbosa moves into range and clinches up with Tail.

Daniel Barbosa seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
Tail wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

A very excited looking Daniel Barbosa made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
Snail Tail was interviewed post fight and said 'this wasnt a loss... it was a lesson! thank you to my camp Kings Jiu Jitsu/Striking Gym for getting me prepared for this fight. Back to the drawing board we go!'.
