Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Meet Me (ranked 4215 p4p, 5350 weight class) and Jimmy Hitter (ranked 483 p4p, 544 weight class). Hitter has chosen Ave Marie as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Meet Me !
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jimmy Hitter!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Konstantin Menshow and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hitter darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Hitter tries to pass to full mount but Me defends it.
Hitter not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Hitter is thwarting Me 's attempts to control the position.
Me on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Me tries to get out of the position.
Me won't allow Hitter to pass to mount.
Hitter prevents Me from standing back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Me is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Me is trying to control but Hitter manages to pass to mount!
Me really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Me tries to hold on but Hitter postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Me sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Me is looking to escape.
Me wants to control but Hitter is keeping busy.
Me wants to get back to full guard but Hitter has mounted him!
Me keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Hitter fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Hitter looking to secure an arm triangle but Me defends it well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Me is looking to improve his position but Hitter isn't that keen on the idea.
Hitter looking to finish with strikes here!
Me knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hitter on the ground.
Hitter throwing strikes here but Me is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Hitter has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Hitter raining down hammerfists from mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Me trying desperately to get to his feet.
Me can't escape the position.
Me blocking the ground and pound.

Hitter jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Me is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Me and Hitter has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Me is not content to let Hitter control the position.
Me takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Me struggling a bit here.
Me tries to improve position but can't.
Hitter in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Me is looking to reverse the position.

Hitter thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Hitter working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Hitter is working Me over with some ground and pound from side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Me struggling a bit here.
Me tries to get back to half guard but can't.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Jimmy Hitter dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Me stuffs the takedown attempt from Hitter. Hitter gets slowly back to his feet.

Me shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hitter napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Me tries to advance to mount but Hitter denies him.
Me wants to stand but Hitter has his arm trapped.
Me scoring with punches and elbows.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Me tries to stand but Hitter is controlling his head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hitter prevents Me from moving into mount.
Hitter is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Me trying to control the pace.
Hitter tries to roll over but Me keeps him under control.
Hitter gets back to full guard.
Me stays in close to Hitter's body and controls the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Me pushing down on Hitter's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Hitter moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Me is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Me not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Me pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hitter is keeping the position for now.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Me slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Me throws a head kick but Hitter moves out of range.
Hitter tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Me defends well and Hitter ends up having to push Me into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Hitter shoots for a double leg takedown but Me sprawls well. He's pushed Hitter's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Meet Me has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimmy Hitter.
Me is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Hitter goes for a double leg but Me avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Me continues to drive forward.
Hitter is breathing heavily.
Hitter looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Me is fending him off so far but Hitter persists. Nope, Me circles away and we're back to standing.

Me feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Me has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Me slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Hitter keeping full guard, as Me tries to pass.

Me looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Hitter escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Me gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Hitter is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Meet Me dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Me tries to bum rush Hitter with a series of wild strikes but Hitter uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Hitter fails with a takedown attempt.
Me throwing a counter right hand but Hitter manages to avoid it.
Me is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Me displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hitter.

Hitter throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Me tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hitter is in Me 's guard.
Me is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Me trying to keep a closed guard but Hitter is proving a slippery customer.
Hitter postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Me is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hitter defends well.
Hitter trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Me looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Hitter postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Me is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hitter, into his guard.

Me passes easily into side control. Nice work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hitter is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Hitter wants to improve his position but Me is controlling well.
Hitter is not content to let Me control the position.
Hitter manages to get to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Me controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Me stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hitter swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hitter utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Me passes Hitter's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hitter won't allow Me to pass to mount.

Me is looking to stall in half guard but Hitter is in no mood to hang around. He's locked up a Kimura from the bottom and has used it to sweep! He's held on to the kimura and is looking to finish here... will he get it... YES! Me taps out and the crowd goes crazy! Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jimmy Hitter!
Jimmy Hitter is the new welterweight champion!
Jimmy Hitter decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
