Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Green Jessuz!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Han Wulong!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Illya Tyunina and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wulong shoots in for a takedown but Jessuz shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Jessuz is looking for a counter combo.
Wulong decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Jessuz has his hands clasped together around Wulong's back. He's all about the action.
Wulong looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jessuz with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Jessuz avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Wulong.
Wulong is looking to pass Jessuz's guard but actually Jessuz recovers to full guard.
Wulong landing with the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jessuz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Wulong missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Jessuz is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Wulong must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Wulong lands a couple of digs.
Wulong trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Jessuz is breathing heavily.
Wulong working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Jessuz's head.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Wulong's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Wulong is looking to work some ground and pound but Jessuz has wrist control.
Wulong throws a big right hand that misses.
Jessuz keeping moving, preventing Wulong from controlling successfully.
Wulong loads up on a big left hand. Jessuz felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Wulong looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Jessuz can't hide his disappointment, as Wulong celebrates the victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Han Wulong!
Han Wulong is the new heavyweight champion!
