Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eric Dang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hercule Poirot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Poirot has chosen Poirot Theme as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Poirot.

Poirot sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks Dang to the ground! Poirot dives into full mount looking to finish!

It looks like Eric Dang has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Dang squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Poirot content just to control the position here.
Dang wants to try and get back to his feet.
Poirot takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Dang's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Dang is breathing heavily.
Poirot controlling the pace for now.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dang squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Poirot looking to control and managing it successfully.

Despite being in the dominant position, Hercule Poirot just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A punch combination from Dang misses.
Some wild striking there from Dang.
Dang avoids the head kick by Poirot.
Poirot is looking to clinch.
Eric Dang seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dang throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Dang misses with a series of wild punches.
Poirot throws a head kick that misses.
Dang rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Poirot moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Poirot is looking to clinch.
Poirot lands with a kick to the ribs.
Poirot wants to clinch up but Dang keeps it at a distance.
Dang takes a kick to the side of the head.
Poirot is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

A big head kick from Poirot and Dang is sent sprawling to the canvas!

Dang is rocked!

Poirot's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Dang on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Dang tries to get out of the position.
Dang wants to get back to his feet but Poirot passes into half guard.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Poirot in particular looking to stall.
Poirot moves nicely into side control.

Poirot decides to stand back up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Poirot throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Poirot doesn't manage to clinch there - Dang circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hercule Poirot dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Eric Dang's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Poirot plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Eric Dang's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Poirot lands a head kick. Dang smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Poirot moves into the clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Poirot takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Poirot pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Nice body kick there by Poirot.
Dang tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Poirot moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Poirot thows a body kick. Dang tries to catch it but that hurt him.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Poirot misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Poirot lands a high kick!

Jeez, Eric Dang's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Poirot feints and then cracks Dang's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Dang down.

Poirot drives through and clinches with Dang against the cage.
Dang takes an elbow to the forehead.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Poirot escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Dang avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Poirot wants to clinch.
Poirot lands a head kick!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Eric Dang's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
