PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Leon Bowser (ranked 6414 p4p, 23561 weight class) and Mr Mangan (ranked 560 p4p, 642 weight class). Bowser kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Tommy Cash - Racked. The crowd seem to be enjoying Mangan's choice of entrance music: Xie hua piao piao. The key to victory for Leon Bowser has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Leon Bowser!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mr Mangan!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Paul Tew and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mangan uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Bowser.
Mangan misses with a takedown attempt - Bowser sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Mangan keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Mangan is looking for the big counter here.
Mangan swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Bowser really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Bowser shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Mangan eats them both and turns towards Bowser to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Bowser stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bowser wants it to stay on the feet.
Bowser definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Horrible takedown attempt by Mangan or perhaps it was just good defense by Bowser, which made it look bad.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mangan is defended easily by Bowser.

Bowser throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Mangan stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Mangan throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Bowser was covering up waiting for the punch and Mangan finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Mangan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bowser has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mangan has managed to get both his arms back between Bowser's legs - danger averted.
Bowser is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Mangan can do to turn this around?

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mangan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Bowser is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Mangan is keeping busy.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bowser, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
