Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ki Ruyjini (ranked 1229 p4p, 1477 weight class) and Oscar Gage (ranked 166 p4p, 198 weight class). Ruyjini comes to the cage accompanied by Jincheng Zhang. Oscar Gage is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruyjini shoots in but Gage avoids the takedown attempt easily.
We've been told by Ruyjini's head coaches at Chakuriki LA Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Ruyjini shoots in looking for a takedown. Gage tries to sprawl out of it but Ruyjini keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gage manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Ruyjini gets caught napping as Gage dives in and scores a takedown. Ruyjini manages to retain guard.

Gage seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gage throws an elbow that misses. Ruyjini uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Gage's guard. Nice move by Ruyjini!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ruyjini stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gage swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Gage is trying to keep Ruyjini in close.
Ruyjini knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gage on the ground.

Gage working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ruyjini doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Gage is tightening it up a little... Ruyjini has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Ruyjini reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Ruyjini taps out! Nice BJJ there by Gage!

A relieved looking Oscar Gage thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
