Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Juan Edwards!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Luis Engracia and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Flintstone clinches with his opponent.

Edwards shoots in looking for a takedown. Flintstone tries to sprawl out of it but Edwards keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Flintstone manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Edwards shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Flintstone defends it nicely.

Edwards wants to clinch but Flintstone slips to the side
and Flintstone counters with a nice kick to the body.
Flintstone stalks Edwards and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Edwards's face. Edwards staggers backwards, shaken.
Flintstone connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

and Flintstone counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Edwards is lucky that one didn't land flush.

It looks like Juan Edwards has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Flintstone rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Edwards moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Edwards is trying desperately to land a takedown but Flintstone is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Edwards.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Flintstone moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

Flintstone sizes up Edwards with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Flintstone shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Flintstone showed some decent athleticism there.
Flintstone is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Edwards can do to turn this around?
Flintstone wants to stand but Edwards has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Edwards is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Flintstone doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Edwards.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Flintstone, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
