Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zdeno Chara (ranked 2531 p4p, 2771 weight class) and Javon Reese (ranked 340 p4p, 368 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Javon Reese was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Zdeno Chara!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Javon Reese!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Daniel Bishop and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Chara gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Chara passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Chara throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Reese regains half guard.
Chara takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Chara working over Reese with some ground and pound. Reese looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Reese looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Chara slips a nice elbow through Reese's hands, connecting with Reese's forehead.
Reese makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Reese.

Reese is looking for a triangle but Chara pushes his legs off easily.

Chara stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Reese swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Reese has momentary wrist control but Chara slips an elbow through the middle.

Reese is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Chara is aware though and is defending well.

We've been hearing that Chara has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Reese looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Chara working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Reese's head.

Reese looking for a guillotine here but Chara defends easily.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Chara connects with a nice short shot to Reese's temple.

Chara stands up over Reese, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Chara makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Chara working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

Chara stands up over Reese, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Chara advances to half guard.
Chara working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Chara takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Chara lands a big elbow - Reese is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Chara!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Zdeno Chara!
