The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zhikova lands with a nice body punch.
Zhikova will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Kontiainen moves out of range of the body kick from Zhikova.
Kontiainen throwing a counter right hand but Zhikova manages to avoid it.

and Kontiainen counters with a nice right hand that sends Zhikova toppling to the canvas! Zhikova scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Kontiainen finish him?!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kontiainen uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Zhikova.
Zhikova dives in and grabs Kontiainen's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kontiainen pushes down on Zhikova's head and hops out.
Kontiainen looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Zhikova throws a hook but Kontiainen blocks it.

Zhikova scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Kontiainen doesn't seem bothered though.
Zhikova ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kontiainen moves away.
Zhikova shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kontiainen but Kontiainen pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Paavali Kontiainen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pinina Zhikova.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Kontiainen, as that shot connected.

Zhikova ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kontiainen moves away.

and Kontiainen counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kontiainen takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Zhikova has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
A low kick from Zhikova is predictable there
and Kontiainen counters with a stiff right hand.
Zhikova closes the distance and clinches up with Kontiainen, looking for a takedown. Zhikova pushes Kontiainen against the cage but Kontiainen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Kontiainen cracks Zhikova with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Kontiainen has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Zhikova to stand back up!

It looks like Pinina Zhikova has been cut.

and Kontiainen counters with a beautiful right hand that knocks Zhikova out cold! What a finish! Kontiainen is going crazy, running around the mat, summersaulting off the corner posts and screaming into the cameras. Something tells me he's pretty happy!
