Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jarvis Wentworth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ulmes Balta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Balta misses with a wild body shot.

Wentworth moves in looking to clinch but Balta pushes him off.

Oh, that's a big right hand from Balta and Wentworth goes tumbling to the canvas! Balta follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.

Wentworth is rocked!
Balta really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wentworth. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Wentworth makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Wentworth.
Wentworth might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Wentworth has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Balta is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Wentworth.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Balta is thwarting Wentworth's attempts to control the position.

Balta's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Balta throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Wentworth on the side of the head.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

and Balta counters with a head kick. That will keep Wentworth thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Wentworth keeps control of Balta as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Balta has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Wentworth is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Wentworth is looking to control Balta's arms but Balta gets an underhook and turns him. Now Wentworth has his back to the cage.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Wentworth's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Wentworth shoots for a double leg takedown but Balta sprawls well. He's pushed Wentworth's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Well, if Balta is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Wentworth manages to get to full guard.

Wentworth had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Balta is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Wentworth Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Balta's back instead.

Wentworth is striking well from the back but Balta escapes and manages to control the positon and works his way to half guard. A much better position - the crisis is over for the time being.

Wentworth drops back, looking for a kneebar! Balta looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Balta looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Balta!

Balta wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Ulmes Balta showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Wentworth's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Ulmes Balta seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
