PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shalak Kamir (ranked 3729 p4p, 3640 weight class) and Toyotomi Ieyasu (ranked 411 p4p, 401 weight class). Ieyasu has chosen Traitors by Homemade Weapons as his entrance music. Shalak Kamir had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 157.5lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Columbo Gatti and Bruno Lombardi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ieyasu moves to clinch but Kamir breaks away
and Kamir counters with a straight right hand.
Toyotomi Ieyasu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ieyasu shoots in but no luck this time.
No luck for Ieyasu with that takedown attempt.
Ieyasu connects with a crisp jab.
Ieyasu ducks under a wild hook from Kamir.
Ieyasu let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Kamir misses the shot to the body.
Kamir throws an overhand right that lands on Ieyasu's shoulder, as Ieyasu tries to avoid the shot.
Ieyasu avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Ieyasu takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Shalak Kamir has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Toyotomi Ieyasu.
Ieyasu swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Kamir cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Ieyasu has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Kamir creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Kamir lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Ieyasu or not.

Kamir tries to throw a body punch but Ieyasu avoids it by throwing Kamir back against the cage.

Kamir breaks from the clinch.
Kamir throws a big shot that misses.
A little jabbing left from Ieyasu on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Kamir darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Ieyasu slips under a jab from Kamir.
Kamir walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Ieyasu drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Kamir swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Ieyasu's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
