Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hong Kong (ranked 210 p4p, 363 weight class) and Ethan Hawk (ranked 33 p4p, 57 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hong Kong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ethan Hawk!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Richard Clark and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kong shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Hawk throws his legs up looking for a submission but Kong uses it to pass to side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kong wants to take a breather but Hawk manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Kong.
Kong trying to control but Hawk is working from the bottom.
Kong loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kong wants to pass the guard but Hawk is keeping the position.

Kong thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hawk's head.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Hawk looking for a sweep. Not yet Hawk, not yet.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Kong throws a strike but Hawk rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Kong manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hawk manages to get himself to full guard.

Kong stands and throws Hawk's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Hawk tries to bench press Kong off him but Kong keeps the position.
Hawk gets back to half guard.
Kong is trying to control. Hawk wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Kong working over Hawk with some ground and pound. Hawk looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Kong throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Hawk keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Kong is looking to advance position but Hawk won't allow it.
Kong sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Hawk defending well though.
Kong has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kong postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Hawk looks a forlorn figure.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Hong Kong dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

A low kick from Hawk misses

and Kong counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Hong Kong overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Kong advances to half guard.
Kong scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Kong is looking to stall here but Hawk recovers full guard.
Kong pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hawk is keeping the position for now.
Hawk wants to sweep but no luck.

Kong postures up and lands a big shot to Hawk's brow.
Kong preventing the sweep.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kong sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hawk's guard.
Kong is trying to control. Hawk wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Hawk is defending against the submission attempts here by Kong.
Hawk is refusing to be controlled, as Kong sits in half guard.
Kong is just content to waste time from the top position. Hawk takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Hawk can't keep his opponent in guard - Kong advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Kong looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Kong throwing shots but Hawk is blocking nicely.
Kong content to control rather than advance.
Kong throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Kong is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hawk can do to turn this around?
Kong wants to advance to full mount but Hawk doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Kong throws a big elbow that misses.
Kong trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Kong trying to control the position from guard on top but Hawk is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kong has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kong looking to sit in guard and control but Hawk gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Kong can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hawk controls the pace.
Hawk works a leg free and moves into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kong is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Kong is trying to control but Hawk passes into side control!
Kong trying his best to control but Hawk has mounted him.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Hong Kong dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Kong closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hawk circles away.
Kong takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Kong misses with a kick to the body
and Hawk cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
No luck for Kong with that takedown attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kong looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Hawk throws a front kick aimed at Kong's knee but Kong avoids it well.
Kong half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Kong takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kong blocks a head kick by Hawk.
Kong tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Hawk defends well and Kong ends up having to push Hawk into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hong Kong. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kong is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Hawk is defending well.

Hawk breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kong shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hawk as he avoids it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kong closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hawk circles away.
Hawk scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kong.
Kong misses with an uppercut
and Hawk counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Kong shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Hawk stuffs the takedown attempt from Kong. Kong gets slowly back to his feet.
Hawk looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Kong with a poor takedown
and Hawk counters with a thumping low kick.
Hawk throws a leg kick but Kong moved away.
Hong Kong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kong shoots and misses

and Hawk counters with a crisp one two that drops Kong! Hawk thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Kong to his feet! Kong is in big trouble!

Kong is rocked!
Kong leaves his chin hanging out and Hawk seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Kong crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ethan Hawk!
A very excited looking Ethan Hawk made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
The defeated Hong Kong had this to say: 'He's the champ for a reason. '.
