PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ziggy King (ranked 1994 p4p, 2342 weight class) and Evan MacMillan (ranked 276 p4p, 314 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ziggy King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Evan MacMillan!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Phil Schofield and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King connects with a right hand. MacMillan shakes it off.

It looks like Evan MacMillan has been cut.
MacMillan looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

King has managed to clinch.
King scores with a nice hook to the head.
King misses with a shot to the kidneys.

MacMillan lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

MacMillan is looking for a kimura but King is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for MacMillan to get the leverage.
MacMillan trying to control the action but King is working from the bottom.
King's coaches at Deep waters have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
King wants to get back to full guard.
King is staying active underneath MacMillan, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
King tries to get to full guard but MacMillan has control of the leg.

MacMillan is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. King doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time MacMillan.

MacMillan trying to work for an americana but King has managed to regain full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

MacMillan postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! King is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of MacMillan, into his guard.


MacMillan has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but King can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
King has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of MacMillan is proving hard to escape from.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

MacMillan is looking for a triangle but King pushes his legs off easily.

MacMillan looking for a guillotine here but King defends easily.
King is looking to stand up but MacMillan won't let him.

MacMillan looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

MacMillan has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. King is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for MacMillan.
King wants to stand but MacMillan is controlling his arm.
MacMillan is trying to improve his position.
King tries to stand but MacMillan is controlling his head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
MacMillan is looking for a sweep.
King tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
MacMillan drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
MacMillan looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? King is fending him off so far but MacMillan persists. Nope, King circles away and we're back to standing.
Ziggy King seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
MacMillan ducks right into an uppercut from King.

King cracks MacMillan with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. King has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning MacMillan to stand back up!
King throws a lazy right hand but MacMillan sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
MacMillan uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by King.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Ziggy King dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Evan MacMillan's cut.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

King cracks MacMillan with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends MacMillan tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but King pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! MacMillan is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ziggy King!
Ziggy King decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
