The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Guifre looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Donk!
Donk keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Donk wants to control but Guifre is having none of it.
Guifre throwing strikes but Donk recovers to half guard. A much better position.

Guifre is trying to work for a kimura but Donk is defending well.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Guifre sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Donk shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Guifre blocks a head kick by Donk.

Donk lands a nice looking kick to the body. Guifre takes a step back to recover.
Donk goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Donk leaves Guifre with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Donk throws a head kick but Guifre moves out of range.
Donk is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Guifre shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Donk but Donk pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Donk gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Guifre to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Guifre stands up over Donk, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Guifre has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Guifre escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Donk gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Donk misses with a series of wild punches.
Donk will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Donk regains half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Guifre lands a nice short elbow.
Guifre frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Guifre landing strikes from the mount.
Guifre pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Guifre goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Donk is on top in guard.

Guifre has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Donk can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Guifre feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
