The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nyland fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Smith connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Nyland momentarily.

Smith feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Nyland sprawling to the canvas! Nyland rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Smith finish him?!

Nyland is rocked!

It looks like Ross Nyland has been cut.

Smith has closed the distance and engaged Nyland in a clinch.
Nyland is still on wobbly legs! Can Smith finish him?
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Nyland seems to have recovered his senses.
Nyland is working for takedown but Smith is calmly controlling the position for now.

Smith wants the takedown. Nyland is fighting it off but Smith persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Nyland's guard against the cage.
Smith chips away with some ground and pound.
Smith arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Nyland's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
