PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sss Sss (ranked 24905 p4p, 24906 weight class) and Sss Sss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Sss Sss has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 23 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sss Sss!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sss Sss!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Fighter A fails to land the takedown.
Fighter B throws a counter combo.
Fighter B misses with a body shot
and Fighter A counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Fighter B gets a double leg takedown into Fighter A's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fighter B is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fighter A is looking to stand back up but Fighter B counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Fighter A.
Fighter A looks like he's trying to stand up.
Fighter B performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Fighter B tries to stand but can't do so whilst Fighter A controls his leg.
Fighter A controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
A low kick lands for Fighter B.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fighter B takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Fighter A shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Fighter A tries to stand but can't do so whilst Fighter B controls his leg.
Fighter B is trying is best to control the position here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fighter A tries to stand but can't do so whilst Fighter B controls his leg.
Fighter B is controlling Fighter A's trapped leg to prevent Fighter A from advancing to side control.
Fighter B makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Fighter B.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Sss Sss will probably get the nod.
That's time! Fighter A's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Fighter A tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Fighter B swivels and escapes.

Fighter B closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Fighter B lands in his opponent's guard.
Fighter B is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Let's hope that Fighter B has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fighter A wants to stand up but Fighter B is controlling him.
Fighter B sitting in guard here, content to control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Fighter A is looking to stand back up but Fighter B counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Fighter A.
Sss Sss has got the better of the ground game so far.
Fighter A wants to get back to his feet.
Fighter B perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Fighter B fails with the takedown.
As Fighter B backs away, Fighter A returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Fighter A closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Fighter B wants to improve his position but Fighter A is controlling well.
Fighter A wants to stand but Fighter B has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fighter B is holding on to half guard well.
Fighter A wants to control but Fighter B is keeping him busy.
Fighter B tries to get to full guard but Fighter A has control of the leg.
Fighter B wants to control but Fighter A is keeping busy.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Fighter B controlling the position for now.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Sss Sss showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Fighter B shoots in for a takedown but Fighter A shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Fighter A is looking to counter with a body kick.

Fighter A gets caught flat footed, as Fighter B shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Fighter B is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Fighter B won't allow Fighter A to get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fighter B controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Fighter A is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Fighter B is controlling him.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Fighter B fails with a takedown attempt.
Fighter A thinks about countering with a body kick.
Fighter A shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Fighter B sprawls well. Fighter B wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Fighter A gets slowly back to his feet.
Fighter B follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fighter A with a lazy takedown attempt

and Fighter B counters by moving into the clinch.
Fighter B has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Fighter A is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Sss Sss has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sss Sss.
Fighter B is looking for a takedown.

Fighter A manages to break the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Fighter A shoots in looking for a takedown but Fighter B manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Fighter A's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Fighter B replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Fighter A blocks it well.
Fighter A fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Fighter A shoots in for a takedown but Fighter B shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Sss Sss comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Fighter B has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
