PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between DWayne Tate (ranked 4784 p4p, 4938 weight class) and Donte Titus (ranked 94 p4p, 102 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, DWayne Tate!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Viktor Lagutenko and Fedor Mirinova.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Titus as Tate shoots in.
Titus throws a big counter head kick but Tate avoids it with no problem.
Tate fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Titus closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Titus decides to stand up, so the ref orders Tate to his feet.
Tate throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Titus throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Titus shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Tate's guard.

Tate working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Titus doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Titus manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Titus works over Tate with some ground and pound from guard.

Tate is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Titus is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
It looks like Titus might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Tate is working hard here to advance position.
Titus sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Titus is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Titus wants to control from the top but Tate keeps moving.
Tate trying to keep a closed guard but Titus is proving a slippery customer.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Donte Titus comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Titus has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
