Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Steven changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Genie tries to avoid it but Steven manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Genie to the ground. Genie escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Steven has Genie pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Genie manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Steven tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Genie just stands there and leans against the cage.

Genie doesn't manage to clinch there - Steven circles away.
Steven dives in and grabs Genie's left leg, looking for a takedown. Genie pushes down on Steven's head and hops out.
Genie tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Steven manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Genie stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Genie wants it to stay on the feet.
Steven fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Genie avoids it really well and circles away.

Genie has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Steven has momentary wrist control but Genie slips an elbow through the middle.
Genie is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Steven really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Genie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Genie looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Steven can't hide his disappointment, as Genie celebrates the victory.
