The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goddard takes a swing at Acemoglu's ribcage but misses.

No joy there for Acemoglu, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Goddard goes for a double leg but Acemoglu avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Acemoglu continues to drive forward.

We've been told by Acemoglu's head coaches at Soul Supremacy Rio that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Acemoglu throws a combination. Goddard tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

and Acemoglu counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Acemoglu connects with a nice short shot to Goddard's temple.

Acemoglu is in a horrible position here. Goddard smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Acemoglu bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Goddard looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Acemoglu is defending well. Goddard quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Acemoglu has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast!
