Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Santiago Rodriguez (ranked 3942 p4p, 2366 weight class) and Matsuhiro Toryiama (ranked 484 p4p, 307 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Matsuhiro Toryiama!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Rodriguez. No joy for Toryiama on that attempt.
Rodriguez stuffs the takedown.
Toryiama tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Rodriguez defends well and Toryiama ends up having to push Rodriguez into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Santiago Rodriguez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matsuhiro Toryiama.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Toryiama.
An attempted straight right counter from Rodriguez misses the target.
Rodriguez throws a hook but Toryiama avoids it easily.
Toryiama shoots in but no luck this time.

Rodriguez is wriggling around but Toryiama manages to pass to half guard.
Toryiama is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Rodriguez is just riding it out for now. Toryiama eventually gives up the hold.

Rodriguez makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Toryiama is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Toryiama takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
A jab from Rodriguez misses.
Toryiama takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rodriguez misses with a hook. Toryiama ducked under it nicely.
Rodriguez defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Toryiama.
Toryiama bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Toryiama is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Rodriguez is trying to escape and Toryiama transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Rodriguez is forced to tap! Nice work there by Toryiama! Very nice indeed!
