Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Clayton Riggs (ranked 5369 p4p, 5713 weight class) and Jf Roberts (ranked 429 p4p, 449 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Clayton Riggs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jf Roberts!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Eddie Farnsworth and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Riggs clinches with his opponent.
Riggs scores with a knee to the head.
Roberts is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Nice body punch from Riggs - that landed with a thud.

Roberts jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Riggs walks away with a smile on his face. Roberts gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Riggs lands a nice hook to Roberts's body. Roberts takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Donk. Riggs catches Roberts right on the button with a cross.
Roberts tries for a takedown but Riggs sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

A left and a right from Riggs both land. Nice combination.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Roberts shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Riggs defends it nicely.
It looked like Riggs was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Clayton Riggs is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Riggs seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Jf Roberts seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Riggs pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Roberts back to the cage. Riggs follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Riggs shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Roberts eats them both and turns towards Riggs to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Roberts decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Riggs has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Roberts is working away from the top position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Riggs is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Roberts can do to turn this around?
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Roberts in particular looking to stall.
Riggs wants to improve his position but Roberts is controlling well.
Well, if Roberts is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Roberts remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Riggs, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
