Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Avers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fighter Guy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fighter Guy has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Avers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Fighter Guy!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Anni Minnemäki and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice combination there by Avers.
Guy misses with a body shot.

Guy uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Avers.
Guy avoids a punch combination nicely.

Avers slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Guy lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Avers stuffs the takedown attempt from Guy. Guy gets slowly back to his feet.

and Avers counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

and Avers counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Guy has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Avers looks for the body kick but Guy saw that one coming.
Avers swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Guy.

Avers throws the kick towards the body but Guy avoids it.
Avers throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Guy stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Avers lands a nice hook to Guy's body. Guy takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Avers shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Avers was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Avers wants to control but Guy is keeping him busy.
Guy is pushing Avers's head away, looking to escape. Avers manages to hold on to the position though.
You can see the frustration on Guy's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Guy manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Guy is staying active underneath Avers, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Avers is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Guy sees it coming and defends easily.
Guy avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Avers.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Avers throwing strikes here but Guy is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Guy has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Avers has passed into side control.
Avers lands a nice forearm strike.
Guy on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Guy tries to bench press Avers off him but Avers keeps the position.
Avers throws an elbow but Guy slips to the side and avoids it well.

Avers throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Guy on the side of the head.
John Avers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Avers bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Avers lands a really nice looking cross but Guy seems unphased.

Guy has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Avers can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
